BEGINNING & ALL LEVEL CLASSES

Yoga Basics
Geared to the beginning and returning student, these classes focus on basic yoga postures and techniques that can be applied to practically any style of yoga. Basic breathing techniques, postural alignment and yoga philosophy will be introduced. Each month we choose a different theme of exploration to provide a sense of continuity and success in starting out your practice.

Vinyasa Basics
Learn the fundamentals of movement-based classes in a safe and supportive environment that emphasizes good alignment. Vinyasa basics will teach you how to "go with the flow" and prepare you for vinyasa, power vinyasa and ashtanga led primary classes.

Intro to Ashtanga
Learn to work gradually through sun salutations, standing postures, and a modified closing sequence, with emphasis on the breath (ujjayi) and the linking of the movement of the breath and the body (vinyasa). This class is appropriate for students new to ashtanga, as well for students with ashtanga experience who wish to reinvigorate their practice by focusing on fundamentals

Hatha Yoga
Our hatha yoga classes combine the adaptability, flow and breathwork of Viniyoga, the precise alignment and body focus of the "thinking body/feeling mind" method, and the meditative innner awareness of the ancient yogic traditions of Bagavan Nityananda. Instructors create a class that is adaptable to the abilities and needs of each student. Beginning students are encouraged to attend.

Yin Yoga
Gently stretch the connective tissues, targeting the pelvis, hips and lower spine with this accessible practice. Appropriate for all ages, levels of fitness and flexibility. Taught as an embodied meditation practice, yin yoga engages the mind in focused contemplation of classical Eastern wisdom teachings.

Restorative Yoga
This is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body and deepen the benefits of the poses. It is a soothing and nurturing practice which promotes conscious relaxation by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Prenatal Yoga
Help bring ease and relaxation to your mind, stretch and strengthen your body and touch the deepest part of your spirit during this important time of your life. Appropriate for all stages of complication-free pregnancy.

Pilates
Taught by a Stott Pilates(tm) certified instructor, these classes develop core strength and stability. Pilates restores the natural curve of the spine, relieving tension, achieving optimal strength, flexibility and endurance without risking injury or building bulk.

Pilates & Yoga Progression
This class combines Pilates mat work and yoga postures influenced by Ana Forrest and vinyasa, integrating fundamentals of movement, core strengthening, conscious breathing, and resistance stretching. Learn to focus your mind and breath and move with alignment, balance and strength.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CLASSES
Intermediate level classes may be an appropriate class level for students who are newer to yoga, physically fit, and injury free. Check with the teacher or the front desk.

Power Vinyasa
Based on the popular Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga method, this challenging flowing practice synchronizes movement and breath in a room heated to about 95°. Bring a towel, and be prepared to sweat as you go with the flow—sculpting a new body, releasing toxins and clarifying the mind.

Vinyasa
These movement-based classes offer creative and unique sequences of poses that flow together without the heat. Our vinyasa classes are richly infused with classical yoga teachings, pranayama and meditation to tame the mind and open the heart.

Ashtanga Led Primary Series
This vigorous class teaches the traditional primary series sequence with attention given to ujjayi breathing, bandhas, and drishti. Principles of alignment are taught to facilitate a sfe and enduring ashtanga yoga practice.

Hatha Fusion
Synthesizing the styles of Iyengar, Ashtanga and classical hatha yoga, these classes offer a playful but serious experience of yoga asana. Each month we focus on a specific theme, creating a workshop-like experience in every class.

Yin & Vinyasa
This class begins with yin yoga to open the hips and spine and to cultivate a morning meditation practice, and contemplate morning morsels of Eastern wisdom while the mind is clear. The last part of the class includes dynamic movement to loosen the body and energize the mind. This form of "vinyasa" is unlike our regular vinyasa practices in that there is no repetitive sun salutation utlized, and is perfect for those working out shoulder injuries or neck/upper back problems. *Please note: Arrive Early: No late entries to this class. Door will be locked when class begins.

ADVANCED CLASSES

Mysore Ashtanga
Mysore is the traditional method of practicing ashtanga yoga and for learning to cultivate a personal practice. Students arrive, begin and end their practice at their own pace. The instructor will lead you pose by pose through the sequence until you are familiar enough to move at your own speed. Adventuresome beginners are welcome.
MYSORE CLASSES are not held on new or full moons. Click here to see Moon Days.
